Final Roles in Production

My main roles in this project were director and cameraman.

As the director, I was responsible for:

  • Overseeing the overall vision of the film
  • Making decisions about how scenes should look and feel
  • Guiding the tone of the story, especially during dialogue scenes

As the cameraman, I focused on:

  • Framing shots
  • Choosing camera angles
  • Controlling movement using the gimbal
  • Adjusting camera settings like ISO and focus

This role required both creative and technical thinking, especially when filming at night.

Jake Landis – Pre-Production Director & Actor

Jake Landis took on the role of pre-production director and also acted in the film.

As pre-production director, he helped with:

  • Planning the storyboard
  • Developing the narrative structure
  • Organizing how scenes would be filmed

As an actor, he contributed to:

  • Bringing the character to life
  • Delivering dialogue naturally
  • Supporting the overall tone of the film

Balancing both roles helped connect planning with performance.

Lucas Baden – Actor, Props & Storyboard Support

Lucas Baden played an important role in both performance and preparation.

As an actor, he:

  • Helped bring one of the key characters to life
  • Contributed to the tension and conflict within the story

He also helped with props, including:

  • Providing items like the fake gun
  • Assisting with elements that made scenes feel more realistic

In addition, he contributed to storyboard development, helping shape the sequence of shots and overall flow of the film.

This made his role important both on-screen and behind the scenes.

Collaboration Between Roles

Even though we had defined roles, we still worked closely together throughout the project.

For example:

  • We both contributed to the storyboard
  • We discussed how scenes should be shot
  • We helped each other adjust during filming

This collaboration made the production more efficient and allowed us to solve problems more quickly.

Importance of Role Distribution

Having clear roles improved our production in several ways:

  • It reduced confusion during filming
  • It made decision-making faster
  • It allowed each person to focus on their responsibilities

Compared to our midterm, where roles were less defined, this project felt more organized and professional.
